Jazzcrazy's local venue, The U.C.C. (The Undercliffe Cricket Club) hosts twice monthly jazz meetings (usually the 2nd & 4th Wednesdays of the month).

Featuring one the North's best known house-bands, The Ken Butler Trio, usually accompanied by a guest vocalist and musician, we can think of nowhere we would rather be mid-week to catch some up and coming and established jazz performers.

Nicki Allan (Vocals)

Nicki's musical ability was apparent from an early age. Initially learning the piano as a child she then went on to study as a classical pianist at the Leeds College of music gaining a first class degree in Jazz and Contemporary music. It was whilst on the Jazz course that Nicki accidentally started 'singing'. As a second study Double Bass player in an all-girl Dixieland Jazz band, the opportunity to sing and play the bass presented itself. This latent singing ability was immediately obvious and was to pave the way for her later success.
