Nancy, a great effervecent and exuberent singer has unfortunatly returned to the Capital. But she has promised to return to "Gods own county" in the near future to please her large following of fans.
Vocalist, bandleader and songwriter nancy j brown has been working all over
Europe as a freelance musician for the last 6 years. With the rich dark
chocolate voice of blues and jazz comes the talent of adding the cream of
funk, dance and indy sounds making her highly sought after for public,
corporate and private events, sessions and clubs.
njb moves easily from jazz to Joss Stone. The repertoire is extensive and
the band is incredible. The creativity and diverse music interests make for
wonderfully different takes on well-known classics - bringing reggae and
funk to jazz and crossing the Beatles with Bossa and blues.
A singer that musicians love working with.
"The most varied and creative singer I have worked with in a long time.
nancy j brown gives her all to every performance and manages to seamlessly
move from jazz ballad to hot funk without the audience realising that they
are trying something new."
Brendon Duffy, saxophonist/teacher, Leeds College of Music
nancy has worked with some of the top names in Jazz, such as Sheila Jordan
and Tina May and many Vortex and Ronnie Scott regulars. She has also
collaborated with producers signed to Soma and Fenetik records, sessioned
for dance label DJs and worked with Rockstar, the creators of the global
best seller game Grand Theft Auto.
