19 year old Ruby has just completed the first year of a 3 year graduate course at the LCM She is a Yorkshire-based singer inspired by fantastic artists such as Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughan, Anita O'Day, Cassandra Wilson and Betty Carter... but also the contemporary vibes of Jill Scott, Lauryn Hill, Angie Stone, The Roots and Erykah Badu.

She admires the new generation of musicians coming out of Dune Records and the Jazz Warriors and is trying to follow in their footsteps. She draws influences from many places including Miles Davis and Bob Marley and from Soca and Salsa to Drum 'n' Bass and always tries to keep an open mind.
